Local SEO does not need to be mysterious. Most local businesses can make real progress in three months by fixing the foundation, publishing useful pages, and building trust signals in a steady rhythm.
Month 1: Fix the foundation
Claim and fully complete your Google Business Profile: correct categories, service areas, hours, services, and photos. Make your business name, phone, and address or service area match everywhere. Check that your website loads fast on a phone, has a clear title on every page, and states your town and services plainly.
Month 2: Build pages customers search for
Create one strong page per core service, and location pages for the towns you most want to win. Each page should answer real questions with specific details, prices or ranges where possible, photos of real work, and a clear call to action. Link the pages to each other and from your homepage.
Month 3: Build trust and activity
Ask every happy customer for a review and reply to all of them. Post on your Google Business Profile weekly using the keywords you track. Get listed in local directories and your chamber of commerce, and look for partners or local publications that might mention your business.
Track progress every two weeks
Watch calls, direction requests, and website clicks in your Google Business Profile, plus rankings for a short list of target keywords in the towns you serve. Expect gradual movement, not overnight jumps, and keep doing what works.
