The words you use to describe your business are often not the words customers type. Finding the real phrases is one of the highest-value hours you can spend on marketing.
Start with your Google Business Profile
The Performance section shows the searches people used to find your profile. It is real data from real local customers, and it often surfaces phrases you never considered.
Use Google's own suggestions
Type your main service into Google and note the autocomplete suggestions, the People Also Ask questions, and the related searches at the bottom of the page. These reflect what people search most often.
Listen to your customers
Write down the exact words customers use on calls, in emails, and in reviews. If they say "pet spa" instead of "grooming salon", that is a keyword.
Check Google Search Console
If your site is connected to Search Console, the Performance report shows which searches already bring you impressions and clicks. Look for phrases where you appear but rank below the top five. Those are your fastest opportunities.
Put the keywords to work
Use your main phrase in a page's title, main heading, and first paragraph. Use related phrases as subheadings that answer questions. Write naturally for people first, and let the keywords guide what topics each page covers.
